Dakota Ultrasonics ZX-2 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is a basic dual-element, fixed-velocity ultrasonic thickness gauge requiring no special training to operate. Calibration is done with the press of a button; either scroll to a known material velocity, or select a common material from a list of material types in the ZX-2. Dakota Ultrasonics ZX-2 is ideal for those who test only a few different materials on a regular basis.
-
The ZX-2 by Dakota comes with 8 internal preset velocities of common materials, plus 2 velocities which the user can set. Features including extruded aluminium body with nickel-plated aluminum, gasket-sealed end-caps sealed membrane keypad that is water and petroleum resistant to IP65 protection rating.
Ultrasonics make it possible to measure material thickness when access is available only to one side of the material being measured. The Dakota ZX-2 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge uses pulse-echo technology to measure the thickness of a variety of materials between .0025 and 36.00 inches (depending on material type) with an accuracy up to + 0.001 inch (+ 0.01 mm) Use the ZX-2 to locate “blind” surface pitting, internal defects, and flaws in material. ZX-2 is a also used for corrosion inspection, to locate and evaluate corrosion, pits, cracks, and pockets of porosity in tanks, vessels, and pipelines.
The user sets the desired velocity, if known, for the material being measured; or can select from 8 internally-stored commonly-measured materials. Dakota ZX-2 also allows for 2 programmable custom materials to be set for calibration of the gauge. Lock the gauge to continue measuring the same material over and over, without having to re-calibrate the instrument.
Dakota Ultrasonics ZX-2 is ideal for testing for corrosion and pitting, tank inspection, pipeline and tube inspection, boilers, glass and a wide range of other situations where the thickness of material or the presence and extent of deterioration or corrosion must be determined.
