Kestrel has introduced its Kestrel 5000-series weather and environmental meters, which supersede their popular Kestrel 4000-series meters. The Kestrel 5000 provides the same performance and accuracy of the Kestrel 4000 with measuring parameters of wind and air speed, air temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and density altitude now coupled with data-logging, a large, high-resolution and high-contrast display with dual-colour back-light and extra-strong poly-carbonate lens. All Kestrel meters are drop-proof, dust-proof, water-proof, making them suitable for firefighting, agriculture, hazardous materials response, metrology, military, law enforcement, scientific/educational, and wilderness, mountaineering, and other outdoor activities.

Kestrel 5000 tracks and logs over 10,000 sets of time-stamped data, transferable wirelessly to a iOS and Android mobile device, or to PC or MAC computer with a waterproof USB data transfer cable or the optional Kestrel LiNK Dongle. Data can be read as a graph on the Kestrel 5000 display.

Precision-engineered Kestrel Vane Mount securely mounts the Kestrel 5000 to any tripod or ¼-20 fitted bracket, making the Kestrel 5000 an on-location monitoring unit. The large wind vane and precision pivot keep the meter oriented into the wind for continuous measurement and logging of all parameters.

The Kestrel LiNK app (iOS and Android) also displays the Kestrel’s real-time readings on a vivid, customizable mobile device dashboard – providing a remote display that functions up to 100’ away (line of sight).
