NEW TITLE HERE
Hold*Blast is a surface passivator which stops the formation of flash rust for long periods of time, often several days. Surface corrosion can occur when water-wet surfaces react with oxygen in the atmosphere, or with humidity in the case of a dry-blasted surface, resulting in flash-rust. The formation of flash rust can be eliminated with the use of Hold*Blast flash rust inhibitor. Hold*Blast is a concentrated organic chemistry which is added to water and sprayed onto surfaces during preparation for coating. It does not leave a film or residue to interfere with coating adhesion. Hold*Blast removes dust as it passivates and is a cost-effective, environmentally-safe, and biodegradable product.
Hold*Blast is applied directly to the substrate in a dilution of 1 part Hold*Blast to 50 parts potable water, to thoroughly wet the surface. Application can be made using pressure washing, airless or conventional sprayer, water-jetting, wet abrasive, or mist/vapour blasting. The washed surface is allowed to dry prior to coatings application. Hold*Blast will typically “hold the blast” against flash-rust for as much as 72 hours.
Because Hold*Blast is colourless, bio-degradable, non-flammable, and non-hazardous, and leaves no chemical residue, there is no need to rinse surfaces treated with Hold*Blast. It does not cause degradation of application equipment; simply clean up by flushing with fresh water.
Hold*Blast has a shelf-life of up to 36 months, and partial pails can be tightly-closed for storage until the next use.
