NEW TITLE HERE
DeFelsko PosiPen Coating Thickness Gauge measures non-magnetic coatings including paint, galvanizing, and plating on steel surfaces. With its very small magnet and measuring head, the PosiPen is ideal for coating thickness measurement on extremely small parts, as well as on peaks or in valleys, and on hot surfaces to 450 degrees F. The PosiPen has both mil and micron scales, making it suitable in any jurisdiction.
The measuring range of the DeFelsko PosiPen is .25 – 20 mils/5 – 500 microns, with a tolerance of +/-10% and .1 mil/2.5 microns. Its Triple Indicator compensates for gravity: red/silver joining line is used for horizontal measurements, green line is used when the gauge points straight down (green to ground), and the blue line is used when the gauge is pointing upward (blue to sky).
PosiPen requires no batteries or electronics, and is rugged, yet lightweight. Easy-to-use, simply place the magnetic tip of the PosiPen on the coated surface, and slowly pull the gauge straight away from the object being measured, while watching the indicator. The reading is taken when the magnet releases. Two or three measurements should be taken to ensure accurate readings by the user.
DeFelsko PosiPen Coating Thickness Gauge conforms to National and International standards including ASTM D7091/B499, ISO 2808, and others.
