NEW TITLE HERE
The TQC Bresle Chloride Test Kit includes all the necessary equipment for assessing the level of soluble salts on blast-cleaned surfaces prior to coating.
The Bresle Salt Test Method involves the injection of De-ionized water repeatedly into a Bresle patch affixed to the test surface for 3 – 5 minutes, to dissolve the soluble salts on the surface. The sample is extracted from the Bresle patch and injected into the TQC Conductivity Meter, which will assess and report the conductivity of the test sample, from which the total density of soluble salts is calculated in mg/m2.
The Bresle Kit can also be used to determine the salt contamination of blast-media, to prevent against dissolved salts in the recycled abrasive media or water re-contaminating the cleaned surface.
The TQC Bresle Kit tests for soluble salts including chlorides, sulphates, and nitrates, in accordance with:
- ISO 8502-6: Preparation Of Steel Substrates Before Application Of Paints And Related Products — Tests For The Assessment Of Surface Cleanliness – Part 6: Extraction Of Soluble Contaminants For Analysis — The Bresle Method
- ISO 8502-9: Preparation Of Steel Substrates Before Application Of Paints And Related Products — Tests For The Assessment Of Surface Cleanliness – Part 9: Field Method For The Conductometric Determination Of Water-Soluble Salts
The TQC Conductivity Meter is waterproof, with an automatic shut-off after about 8 minutes of non-use, and a limited 1-year manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturing defects. The electrode module is warranted against defects for 6 months unless otherwise specified.
